Artfully arranged by our new friend Debbie, a bowl full of yummy-ness....on our way to Fashion Exposed opening day.
Our stand at the show. Hansie Armour (on the right) provided the great Milkymerino poster for the stand as well as some samples of the wool, the tops (the cleaned wool) and the yarn made from the tops. The yarn is used to knit the fabric we used for the range. We had an absolutely fabulous repsonse to the new range. The colour attracted people in, the feeling of the fabric kept them on the stand and the prices made them place orders! Naturally dyed, made in Australia with Australian wool...it doesn't get much better.
John and Renske at the stand.
It is all starting to come together..there is a synergy at work that is connecting a group of people, all with different businesses but all with the same passion: to make brilliant fashion, of all kinds and price levels, with Australian grown fabric, in Australia. Milkymerino is the connecting thread, Hansie and Gary Armour have worked long and hard to get to this point, and although the job is not finished, they have collected a band of passionate friends along the way, who are all involved in small bits of the story. Kathy Subic from Zeega is one of the most interesting people I've met in a long time. Her energy, passion, knowledge and generosity is bringing people together and we're hoping to jointly achieve our individual aims. Keep watching this space, I am convinced this is history in the making. We have some way to go but the customer's reactions to Kathy's range and my own has been inspirational and encouraging. People do want Australian made top quality, natural and organic dyed garments and we sure as hell are going to make it for them!!
I am in my element, working together with like-minded people, playing/working with colour which is so close to my heart. People are actually ready for colour, ready for individuality and the fashion industry is changing so fast now: indenting is going to be much less popular, smaller companies like Zeega and us are going to offer in-season availability, smaller quantities per drop at affordable prices and the possibility of re-ordering popular styles/sizes. Viva Australia!
